Prayer & Meditation
It’s obvious from Nehemiah’s memoirs that prayer was critical to his process, planning, and decision-making, all of which had profound implications—for himself, and for countless of others.
For some, prayer is scary or strange. It doesn’t have to be.
Prayer is simply talking—but instead of talking out-loud to yourself, you’re trusting that there is a Creator, Listener, Guide…God who pays attention. Not only does He pay attention, but somehow, in some divinely mysterious way, our prayers matter. They have an impact. Sometimes the impact is invisible, unknowable. Other times we see prayers answered in living color.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6
I know—easier said than done.
But when you pray, life really does get better. Not always easier, but better.

Daily Meditation Routine
Meditation is so hot right now. But the truth is that humans have been meditating since just after the beginning. The story goes that God created humans and walked with them in the paradise version of Earth. But human rebellion broke the perfect harmony with our Creator. (Then, and still now.) Ever since, we need to meditate, focus, eliminate distractions… because this world fractured; and that fracture is in us, too.
Meditation helps us to connect, not only with our real selves, but also with the Maker of our real selves. Meditation was His idea.
Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
